1. About Us
“Perfectly Splendid” is the trading name of Elwira Filak, a sole trader operating a registered home-based food business under Plymouth Council (Food Business Reference: FS-Case-718155516). Contact via the form on our Contact page.

2. Products
All cakes are handmade to order in a home kitchen. Decorations and colours may vary slightly from website photos due to their handmade nature. These variations are not considered faults.

3. Allergy & Dietary Information
Our kitchen handles nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, and soy. We take care to avoid cross-contamination, but we cannot guarantee allergen-free products. Please notify us of any allergies before placing your order.

4. Ordering & Lead-times
We require a minimum of 4 days’ notice, subject to availability. Your order is only confirmed once we provide written acceptance and (where applicable) your deposit is received.

5. Prices & Payment
All prices are in GBP. We are not VAT registered. Currently, payment is accepted in cash on collection.

6. Delivery / Collection
All cakes must be collected in person from PL68DL. Collection is by pre-arranged time slot, agreed during ordering, and must be adhered to. Time slots are 30 minutes long. We cannot guarantee availability outside the agreed slot, and cakes not collected on time may be stored at your own risk.
Once collected, responsibility for safe transport and storage passes to the customer.

7. Cancellations & Refunds
Because your cake is perishable and made to your specification, the statutory 14-day “cooling-off” period does not apply (CCR 2013, reg 28(1)(c)). You may cancel within 24 hours of ordering for a full refund. After that deposits are non-refundable. If we have not started production we may, at our discretion, offer a partial refund. Faulty or damaged goods will be replaced or refunded in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Shelf Life & Storage
Cakes are best enjoyed on the day of collection/delivery and should be consumed within 48 hours. Refrigerate items containing fresh cream.

9. Liability
We are not liable for any loss arising from improper storage, late collection, or undisclosed allergies. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Events Outside Our Control
If an event beyond our reasonable control (e.g. illness, extreme weather) prevents us from fulfilling your order, we will notify you and issue a full refund of all amounts paid.

11. Complaints
Please contact us within 24 hours with photographs of any issue so we can put it right.

12. Privacy
We use your personal data only to process orders, meet legal obligations (e.g. tax), and (with consent) send occasional updates.

13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
